


About the Role
-Posting on social media, including sharing posts concerning social activism, local news events, and art-related content.
-Assisting in Event Planning such as monthly cultural events/workshops as well as big community events such as galleries, film screenings, and community forums.
-Organizing our cultural center/office, organizing documents, and art supplies.
-Translating documents from English to Spanish/Spanish to English and vice-versa.
-Connecting with Local and regional artists.
-and more (all necessary training will be provided)

Corazón del Pueblo is Santa Maria’s first Latinx Cultural Center. We focus on promoting equitable access to creative expression in the performing, visual, and literary arts, preserving the heritages that make our multicultural futures powerful.
Corazón del Pueblo is currently seeking a creative arts associate to join our team! We are looking for individuals who show a passion for social activism, pride in their heritage, and passion for art to join our team. At Corazón del Pueblo our goal is to create unity within our community and provide resources for local residents.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Willingness to participate in local activism. (Spreading the word, Creating awareness for social issues, and being open to learning more about issues in depth)
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)
Be courteous and personable.
Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented.
Able to engage with diverse artists and community members in the Santa Maria Valley
Committed to working with diverse groups and historically marginalized populations
Willingness to learn new skills.
Basic computer skills and an understanding of social media.
Individuals are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Individuals with a documented medical exemption will need to provide a negative test result prior to all in-person activities.
